ABOUT ME
WELCOME!
Hi, and welcome to my page The Book Agent. My name is Andrea and I am a wife, mum and avid reader. I have been obsessed with books for as long as I can remember, and began sharing my interest with others on Instagram, where I am also known on there as @thebookagent.
I am based in Sydney, Australia and have studied a Bachelor of Arts with a major in literary studies. I am currently studying my Masters of Writing and Literature and would like to one day write and publish a book of my own. In the meantime, I work as an Early Childhood Educator and for leisure, I post bookish content including book reviews and recommendations and ideas of what to read to accommodate to different moods, seasons and holidays. Content can be found on Instagram and on this blog. I will soon be launching a BookTube where I will share video updates on past, present and future reads as well as other bookish posts!
My go-to genres are mystery, horror, fantasy and historical fiction. However, as I have gotten older (and since becoming a mum), I have noticed that I have slightly turned into a mood reader. This will take me from one extreme to the next...meaning I could be reading a horror book one week and then randomly feel like a spicy/cheesy romance, which is completely out of my usual genre choices! LOL
The goal of this page is to share my passion for reading and writing with like-minded people, and to also encourage others who find reading a daunting task to read more! Yes, for people like myself reading is fun and exciting, however it also has its other benefits. Reading is the perfect way to relieve stress, help manage anxiety and also a way of slowing down the mind from a busy day. Reading also assists in building your vocabulary as well as enhancing your creativity.
